Hugo Bike is a Czech manufacturer of high-performance electric scooters, with a strong focus on durability and the long service life of components. Its models are designed for a wide range of uses – from everyday riding and demanding off-road conditions to racing.

Our collaboration has spanned over 7 years — throughout this period, siliXcon has served as the supplier of motor controllers, the key element ensuring the performance and reliability of Hugo Bike electric scooters.

Hugo Bike scooters require a motor controller that fits into a very limited installation space while still being able to reliably control the scooters’ exceptionally powerful drivetrains.

When Hugo Bike was looking for a suitable solution years ago, siliXcon motor controllers were the only ones able to meet this combination of requirements.

High-performance motors

The motors used in HUGO Bike electric scooters range from 250 W up to 10 kW. In the most powerful versions, peak output can briefly reach up to 15 kW.

Our siliXcon SX and SC controllers are used primarily in HUGO Bike’s most powerful model ranges, specifically the BIG ONE S, BIG ONE X and S.E.N.

The advantage of siliXcon controllers is not only their ability to control high-performance motors. Equally important is the possibility to fine-tune drivetrain parameters in detail – for example, power delivery during acceleration, drivetrain behaviour when cornering, or power adjustment based on temperature.

Smart energy management and battery protection

Since 2023, the batteries used in the X and S.E.N. model ranges have been equipped with a unique smart BMS that communicates with the motor controller via CAN bus.

The controller uses dedicated software that enables it to:

• automatically adjust operating parameters,
• prevent overloading of the battery and motor,
• respond to monitored air and battery temperatures as well as other operating values, and optimise energy delivery accordingly,
• help extend the lifetime of the battery and drivetrain system.

The result is a reliable and intelligent solution that delivers high performance while providing maximum protection for key components.

Successful collaboration in racing

The partnership goes beyond series production. siliXcon has been supporting the HUGO Bike racing team for many years and is actively involved in tuning its machines. In previous years, this included the S.E.N. and S.E.N. Desire models. Currently, the MACH 28 racing prototype is undergoing testing.

Whether for racing or production models, Hugo Bike was looking for a motor controller that could meet demanding quality and performance requirements while remaining compact — and it is precisely thanks to these units that they can reach parameters their competitors find hard to match, positioning them among the leading manufacturers of electric scooters.
